My name is Ryan Christopher Cook. About a year ago, I made a permanent move to my 4 living location, Washington, DC. Naturally, working in the Nations Capitol gears you in a political direction. Marketing jobs in this area tend to focus more on business to individual relationships. The reason behind this is that most of the companies in DC requiring an extensive marketing team are organizations, non-profit or otherwise, that seek the support and interest of individuals in a certain geographic region or nationwide.
This is not to say that B2B (business to business) marketing does not relate to business to indivdual outreach. Often the two go hand in hand, and the concepts, strategies, and artforms that make you a marketing success are the same in all arenas.
While working for a company who does advertising for over 20 news blogs all over the country I have gained some really good hands on experience and a ton of knowledge. I still have much to learn myself, but a lot of new ideas to share. I hope this site can become just as much of a learning ground for me as it can be for you.
